Cervical Screening - Smears

General Practice Nurse and Dr Montgomery

Currently, women aged 25-49 are invited for screening every 3 years and those aged 50-64 are invited every 5 years. You will be invited to contact the Practice to make an appointment when your next smear is due. 

If you are unable to get an appointment that is suitable to you, please feel reassured that Family Planning Clinics in Bangor, Newtownards and Holywood offer a smear service with no appointment necessary, results will be shared with the Practice.

Blood Pressure Monitoring

The Practice has an electronic blood pressure machine located outside the Treatment Room that patients can attend to use without an appointment. Please ensure to complete your details alongside the reading on the form provided.

You can also attend the treatment room for this - please contact the administration team after 10am Monday to Friday to request an appointment with a Health Care Assistant.

All Patients over the age of 40 are advised to have their BP checked annually.  

Minor Surgery

Dr Beck & Dr Graham (monthly).  Please contact the administration team after 10am Monday to Friday to arrange this if a joint injection has been recommended by one of the Doctors.

Maternity Care

As soon as you have a positive pregnancy test, you can now refer yourself directly for maternity care within the South Eastern HSC Trust. Please click here for more information.

 

Family Planning Clinic (no appointment necessary)

Provided at:

  • Bangor Hospital (91454186) on Monday 9am to 11am and 5pm to 7pm, Tuesday 5pm to 7pm and Friday 9am to 11.30am.
  • Newtownards Community Hospital on Tuesday 9am to 11.30am.
  • Holywood Health Centre on Thursday 2pm to 4pm.

Travel Vaccinations

Unfortunately we are no longer in a position to offer travel advice and non-NHS travel prescriptions.

If you are travelling on a foreign holiday and would like some travel advice / vaccinations the following centres offer this service;

Travel clinics will require a list of your medication and a vaccination record – this will be provided by asking at reception.

We will continue to provide the following NHS vaccines if advised;

  • Diptheria        
  • Hepatitis A
  • Polio                         
  • Tetanus
  • Typhoid

Please collect the vaccine from the Chemist and make an appointment at the treatment room for administration.

Please allow plenty of time for vaccines before travelling.
